One night, Peter is caught and in his attempt to flee, he accidentally leaves his shadow behind. Upon his return to retrieve it, Peter awakens Wendy Darling, the daughter of Mary. Wendy manages to reattach Peter's shadow, and Peter discovers that she is well-versed in bedtime stories. Impressed, he invites her to Neverland to serve as a mother figure to his group of Lost Boys, children who were misplaced in Kensington Gardens. Without hesitation, Wendy agrees, and her brothers, John and Michael, join her on the adventure.

Their journey to Neverland is filled with excitement and peril. The children are blasted out of the sky by a cannon, and Wendy faces a close call with a Lost Boy named Tootles. To aid Wendy in her recovery, Peter and the Lost Boys construct a small dwelling known as a Wendy House, a term that remains in use to this day. Before long, John and Michael begin to embrace the playful and carefree lifestyle of the Lost Boys.

Together, Peter, Wendy, and the Lost Boys embark on numerous escapades in Neverland. From encounters with pirates to battles with mythical creatures, the group experiences a series of thrilling adventures. Through it all, Wendy takes on the role of a nurturing and protective presence, guiding the children through the challenges they face. As they navigate the wonders of Neverland, Peter, Wendy, and the Lost Boys forge a bond that transcends time and space. Their shared experiences and bond of friendship create memories that will last a lifetime.
